LEGOs® Serious Play & Wine
“The LEGOs® help team members to talk about the wines beyond ‘it tastes good’, and to listen to one another. Everyone had something to say, and it was an original exercise”.
LEGOs® and Wine
A unique experience created for teams with creative minds (and hands).
Have you ever thought of using LEGOs® to express ideas, thoughts and new sensations, like the one of tasting a wine for the first time?
In the LEGOs® and Wine Workshop, Reiner and I introduce you to the method LEGOS® Serious Play. The method was created in mid-1990 at the IMD in Lausanne with the goal to improve communication, creative thinking and participation within your team.
We use it to discover new things about wine and we challenge every member of the team to participate in storytelling and playing with their LEGO® creations.
You will discover how to explain, communicate and appreciate wines without technical knowledge, without the wine lingo, just using your hands, the blocks and creativity. It is serious fun!
LEGOs® and Wine workshop
We are tasting around 5 to 7 wines, with small nibbles - small food - LEGO® “Exploratory bag” provided as a gift.
The group will receive initial training on how the Serious Play method works.
We will follow with three sessions combining wine tasting and LEGO building to express, communicate and discover particular elements of the wines.
In the end, each participant will receive a wine to taste blind that will need to be explained to other members of the team using the newly learned communication skills gained with the LEGOs.
The final session is a team activity for the whole group, where each member requires participation and input to create a final LEGO masterpiece guided by the final wine.

“Thanks, Juan and Reiner, we were quite happy with the experience!
It forced people to talk about the wine beyond ‘it tastes good’, and at the same time to listen to one another. Everyone had something to say, and it was an original exercise. Especially the first few exercises with the lego at the beginning, which we, as architects, really loved!”
